XX: the ladies of counter)induction play Xenakis and more
Sun Jun 27 2010
Join the women of counter)induction, New York’s most dynamic new-music collective, for an afternoon concert at the oh-so-chic penthouse of the Roger Smith Hotel-New York. This trio program gives a wide-angle look at contemporary music for strings, from the virtuosic powerhouse Ikhoor of Iannis Xenakis, to the exquisitely refined timbral nuances of Sown under the skin of her hands, by c)i composer Kyle Bartlett. Also on the concert are duos by Eric Moe, Paul Epstein, and Robert Karpay. The performing members of XX: counter)induction are Miranda Cuckson (violin), Jessica Meyer (viola), and Sumire Kudo (‘cello). Don’t miss this rare, intimate opportunity!
